“Very solid apocalyptic/vampire movie. It doesn’t bring a whole lot that’s new to the genre, BUT I’m seeing it…13 years after it came out, so that’s got easily as much to do with me as it does the movie.
The cast is pretty great. Full of goodness.
I don’t want to just bash on CG, and at the same time, this movie is SO light on CG and heavy on real scenery that it’s got a nice, real feel to it.
It’s also kind of right on the edge of modern horror, which went through a definite fascination with Babadooks and VVitches and not-so-straight-forward horrors, and I have to say I was into that less psychological thing.
Definitely a good watch if you haven’t seen it before, great choice for an October movie list.
