“Rowley Jefferson’s Awesome Friendly Spooky Stories (Awesome Friendly Kid Book 3)”

“Solid, solid book, highly recommend for kids, but also for adults who just want to goon around with a book, which is a great way to spend an afternoon. Get a couple tallboys and some chips, and read a book meant for middle schoolers, you’ll have a blast. Or not, but then you’ll be all fueled up on beers and chips, so you can go do something you consider fun. I don’t know what you think you’ll end up doing that more fun than the afternoon I just laid out for you, but you’re welcome to try and top it. Let me know what you come up with, I’ll give it a go. But I’m a simple man with simple tastes, so chances are pretty good that I won’t cotton to your supposedly very fun thing that I’ll never do again.

I’ll just share a couple things:

There’s a story about the headless horseman, who’s in middle school, meeting a kid who’s just a head. They become fast friends and team up to take a girl to the dance. Great stuff.

There’s also a mummy story about a mean mummy, who rampages, then a nice mummy, who’s the toast of the town, and their various meetings in copyright court. Also great.

Jeff Kinney is awesome. I’m betting we’ll have a whole crop of young people who write as adults because they were inspired by wimpy kid books and the like. I just think that’s, like Marge Simpson would say about potatoes, neat.
