Review: Howard the Duck, Vol. 1: Duck Hunt

Howard the Duck, Vol. 1: Duck Hunt
Howard the Duck, Vol. 1: Duck Hunt by Chip Zdarsky
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Vol 0 is definitely a favorite where this one was less favorite of favorites. But Howard’s reproductive partner clone (it’s complicated) is adorable, and there’s a touching moment in there.

I’ve been so happy to see this series come back and be handled so well. Chip Zdarsky is really a master of keeping it funny while still giving it enough of a story to make the funny parts funny, the sad parts sad, and the outrageously funny parts outrageously funny.

By the way, this is the entirety of Chip Zdarsky’s Amazon bio:

Straight up? I’ve never been scared of spiders. You come at me with a rubber spider and I’ll just be, like, “so what.”

I’ll just leave you with that little gem and the suggestion that, if you are gutsy enough to use twitter or instagram, you follow this dude. He’s hilarious.
