“Mr. Burns, a Post-Electric Play”

“I dug this, but the third act is all one big musical number, and reading those on a page is pretty tedious.

I totally get it, it’s the kind of thing that makes sense in a play, but when you’re reading it…

So three stars for this as a reading experience, and I think it’d be a lot more fun in its intended format.

I’m also not a huge theater guy. My mom tried to culture me. She took me and my brother to plays all the time, the local college always did stuff. I liked the one about the lady who’s blind and being robbed or whatever, but other than that I only remember the Shakespeares, which, boring.

When I finally put my foot down and said no more plays, my mom and my brother came back from a play and said it was really funny, and there was a guy in it who really liked Spider-Man. I thought they were fucking with me because it sounds like exactly the kind of thing I would like, and I genuinely assumed they were coming up with nonsense to tell me they saw so I’d think I missed out. But it turns out that’s a real play, I just have terrible luck. “
