“This might be a good political ad, kind of like the ones I’ve been seeing around here (Colorado) about legalizing hallucinogens. The ad is all about how veterans have PTSD and hallucinogens will probably fix ’em.
Which I don’t really have a problem with, and I don’t have a problem with legalized weed, but this whole thing is giving me very “legalize weed” vibes. Which is something that I thought would have tremendous benefit, and really it just makes something that was pretty easy (procuring marijuana) slightly easier. I figured all that tax money, every student would have 12 iPads and probably be in magnet boot school/prison by now.
But things seem mostly the same except for the creation of “budtender” as a job. These are people who sell marijuana and make up wonderful stories about how this or that kind is grown in 3/4 shade or whatever, and the result is being high in a slightly different way, which may or may not be 100% attributable to the SUGGESTION that these types of weed will make you high in these certain ways (for reference, see “When I drink tequila I get crazy!” lady).
Anyway.
“If you want to stop ripped grandpas who were vets coming at you with a turkey baster full of semen, legalize shrooms” seems like a pretty good slogan is all I’m sayin.”
