“Descender, Vol. 6: The Machine War”

“And thus, Pete finished Descender.

I have some advice. Maybe for myself.

I think it’s time to start only reading series that are completed. I don’t have the kind of brain that can remember what happened in a volume, wait like a year, then get another injection, and carry this story with me over three years. I don’t know if I’ve read too much and everything’s a blur, or if my brain is broken or what.

I do think there’s something to the old way I used to read comics: I’d read the same ones over and over. Like maybe 10 times apiece. So I suppose when new volumes came out, it was pretty easy to remember.

I don’t know if that way is better. I feel like it might be, just because I remember more comics from that time. But that might just be the way I’m biased towards because it was the way I experienced comics when I was 14 (okay, 14-25, I was a dweeb), and those are probably the best years for everything. Comics, movies, TV, whatever.

I mean…what’s the richness of someone’s life if they read the same 25 books in a continuous loop versus someone who read new books all the time?

Eh, who knows?”
