Coffee shops have gotten into this new thing where instead of having a top jar, they have TWO tip jars with a Would You Rather? type of question. So one jar will say “Be 3 feet taller?” and the other one will say “Be 3 feet shorter?”
Today, there was one jar that said, “Wealth and power” and another that said “Love and friendship.”
It was kind of interesting, because it was like, maybe they’re saying that if I agree with the love and friendship angle, I should offer to, I don’t know, hug someone or something rather than providing a buck. Or maybe I should hold onto my dollar because if I want wealth and power, it’s probably not coming by giving away dollars, and I don’t care about love and friendship…
Either way, didn’t seem like a good move.
So, I decided to come up with some alternatives. Coffee shops, feel free to use any of these you like.
Cargo Shorts -or- Anything But Cargo Shorts?
This spreads an important message about cargo shorts and awareness of the fact that you don’t have to wear cargo shorts. There are other kinds of shorts, plus it’s not that hot.
Spider-Man -or-Superman?
This one is good to have at a coffee shop because you can immediately throw a hot latte in someone’s face if they answer wrong.
This is a genuine psychological test. It is a story about a girl. While at the funeral of her own mother, she met a guy whom she did not know. She thought this guy was amazing, so much her dream guy she believed him to be, that she fell in love with him there and then … A few days later, the girl killed her own sister. Question: What is her motive in killing her sister?
This is supposed to reveal if someone is a psychopath. Which is good information to have, in general. It might not work, but on the other hand, it might work. And the real trick, you then tell the person that their answer says they’re a psychopath, but you don’t really believe it. And THEN they tip you more to prove they care about another person.
Do You Want To Give Me A Dollar -or- FIVE Dollars?
Haha, gotcha!
9/11: Inside Job -or- Inside Job But Pulled Off By Cell Of Outsiders Within The American Government?
This one works well to weed out the annoying old people that tend to hang around coffee shops way too long.
