New Episode In The Pipe

Is that the expression? Down the pike? Who the fuck knows.

We have a huge, new, giant, gigantic episode coming your way. So much to talk about. I know that we’ve been doing more like every 10 days lately, and we’re going to get back to regular Fridays. We’ve got stuff about hipsters, the worst movie of all time, another the worst movie of all time, a lady who made me feel like shit at a cash register, a scary mirror, cancer kids, Snapsack, and someone dreamed of cuddling yours truly. Way more than one show can contain. You can see the notes above.

As a quick interlude, some things that are going on.

I’m working for a web site called LitReactor. This is awesome because it’s an offshoot of chuckpalahniuk.net, a place where I used to haunt forums as a youth. That site turned me onto Flannery O’ Connor and James Joyce. I truly enjoyed one of those two. The other one, I thought his book Dubliners was about a band and the title was pronounced “duhb-lye-ners” and that somehow this was going to be about grunge music. It was not.

At any rate, it’s a pleasure to work there. I post regular news, and I’ll also be doing columns, hopefully on the regular. You can check out my first column here. Two more are coming in May, somewhere around the middle of the month.

So far I’ve made none dollars from writing, ever. And from helpfulsnowman stuff. I’m still 100% okay with this, and I’ll level and tell you that the columns pay very little. Don’t get me wrong, I feel appropriately compensated. But there are no new riches in my near future.

I tell you that to ask you this: please visit the column, click one of the share buttons on the top of the page, and if you’re so inclined, buy one of the suggested book titles. That doesn’t help me out financially, but it shows that people are reading this shit and might get me more work from this site  in the future. Plus, all that drives traffic to the site. This is a site I really believe in. I wouldn’t work for them if I didn’t, and I sure as hell wouldn’t send anyone else there.  LitReactor has some great content, including some online writing courses with some legit, real time authors. I took some myself in the past, and they are awesome.

Second thing, my poetry chapbook is still on Amazon. Yeah, I know. That shit’s for shits. But it’s a buck. I don’t have any merch, I don’t even know what that would look like, but I have this. I’d sure as hell appreciate if you purchased and especially if you reviewed it. If you’re on Goodreads, how’s about adding it to your To Read shelf, or maybe even reviewing it there? Because right now there’s one review, and it’s lovely.

Last thing.  I’ve been busting ass on a new draft of Pete’s Unsent Love Letters. About 30-50,000 words have been cut so far. Still about 500 different letters. 90% of the way through at this moment, and I’d like to finish it out in the next week or so. After that there’s a massive spelling/grammar check to do, another draft, then I’ll need readers. If you’re interested in taking on this job, reading a book-length manuscript and making some notes for me, I’d appreciate that. No prior writing experience is required, and in fact I’d love to hear from some folks who just enjoy reading. Don’t be shy. The only thing I’d require is that you give me some sort of feedback, whatever you feel qualified to give.  I’ll send you an electronic version or a hard copy if that’s what you require, plus whatever postage you need to get it back. Think it over. Email, call, text, Snapchat me if you’re interested in taking that on.

Thanks, lovelies.
