“Just circling back to confirm: book is better than the show by A LOT. itâs much weirder and moves much faster. This is the ticket.
Comics have been adapted into super fun movies and shows, but if given the Sophieâs choice of all of comics or all of movies, one has to go away foreverâ¦Iâd pick comics for the duration.
One because I guess i have a death wish or something. I feel like a lot of people would be reasonably upset if I just made that decision for everyone without taking a poll first. But how could I? The outcome would then just force me to go against everyoneâs wishes anyway. Wouldnât it be better for me to just do it instead of marching everyone through a vote, saying âthanks for your feedback,â and then pushing the button (or switch or whatever mechanism makes this work)?
Two because I think that movies, being such a big money industry, are generally less likely to be interesting than comics. What I mean is: a âmicro budgetâ movie costs more than Iâll make in 20 years. A micro budget comic, hell, I could make one right now.
Of course this zero sum game isnât real. You can enjoy both. For nowâ¦I havenât accidentally unleashed this very specific and pop-culture-aware genie yet.
But might I advise you to start working through your Netflix queue now?
Because, as I said: I havenât found that genie YET. “
