“And with that, the series ends.
The ending is satisfying. No spoilees, I’ll just say things get wrapped up and you won’t be pissed, but you won’t see the world in a whole new way either.
It’s pretty fun that this series has run so long, and I’m happy that it got wrapped up. That’s my favorite thing about it, it’s the little indie that could. It stayed fun throughout, and I liked seeing the art, the writing, all of it grow and mature.
Maybe that’s what’s cool about it. It’s like that movie, Boyhood, except Matt Wagner has the freedom to grow as a creator and make the subsequent volumes better and better. I mean, damn, it was 1984 when it started, and it only wrapped up in 2019. That’s over 65 years!”
