“Nobody Move”

“A really good heist book, though more Jim Thompson than Ocean’s 11.

A great lesson in good and bad dialog. A lot of the book is told through dialog, and you’ll find no back and forth, ping-pong-ing conversations. People don’t answer questions, don’t respond directly to what others say, and rarely move the action or story through dialog.

If you’re looking for a master class in storytelling that does dialog right, that tells a story with a real beginning, middle, and end without relying on crutches, look no further.”
