It’s a solid nerd beard that’s gone through various nerd beard variations. Full beard, goatee, etc.

I sort of thought it was the variety of nerd beard meant to give a face more definition, but I saw a picture of a no-beard Tynion, and he was a handsome fella. A little Brandon Routh-y, if I say so myself.
