“There’s a problem with this type of movie that’s not Creep’s to solve, but it remains unsolved:
When I’m watching a movie called Creep about a creep who invites someone to film him and is ultimately doing murder-y stuff, I am in for an extremely boring first 20 minutes because I know the creep is a creep, but the person in the movie creating the documentary does not.
The audience knows too much more than the characters in the story, and that doesn’t really work.
One of those movies where I wish I didn’t know what it was, watched it, and then I’d be totally surprised.
So a movie from 15 years prior, I suppose.”
